Now, I'm not the model figure for global preservation but I like to consider myself aware. Though I'm not making leaps and bounds in my personal lifestyle as it pertains to environmental betterment, I feel as if I'm taking small steps acting upon my awareness, no matter how small they may be. So, it also gives me a good feeling when I see when the automobile industry is also taking these steps.
There really hasn't been a non-gasoline powered car that can perform as well as...well...a gasoline powered car. When you want performance, you substitute for environmental friendliness, and vice versa. However, the Ford Fusion 999 was tested and just broke 200 MPH in a recent drive test...without using a drop of gas! This makes Ford the "world's first automaker to set a land speed record for a production-based fuel cell powered car." By this display of speed, Ford hopes to have an equilibrium when it comes to speed and environmentally proficient vehicles for the common people. Word has it that a couple of fuel cell driven Focuses, as well as the aforementioned Fusion, are roaming the streets as part of this ongoing study. Put this technology on a new Shelby Cobra or something and I think you've got the ultimate winner!
