TOKYO POLICE VS. THE "OLD"

In Tokyo, the metropolitan police mean business. In efforts to lower accidents, the police are urging the elderly to give up their licenses. In the past several years, the overall number of accidents have declined 20%. While accidents by the elders aged over 70 have increased 35%! And local business' are offering special discounts and promotions to their venues in order to "entice" the old to not drive.

I mean we all want the elderly to get off the roads. They drive slow, they make life miserable, and they are the cause of traffic. But how are the elderly going to get around? That's a good question. But by doing this campaign, car sales might slip considering the fact the old make up most of the buying power in Tokyo.
