The vast majority of everyday people (mainly within the 15-30 year old demographic) follow daily routines that they have set for themselves without perspective as to how these sometimes superfluous tasks became ritualized. Things that didn't even exist, say, 10 years ago have become integrated into ways of life. To objectively look at the advancements of our society within a 10 year time frame is quite dauntingly marvelous (as oxymoronic as that sounds).
This was brought to my attention as I was sitting at a bookstore and reading through magazines and books. My periphery was closed only to the books before me when I was approached awkwardly by a security guard. I could feel his demeanor and without a word, he had me convincing myself I had done something wrong. "Is there something I could help you with," I asked him. "I don't know... is there?", he replied. In an effort to ease the tension, I simply went on reading without wanting to get up and leave, which would then allow him the gratification of knowing that he was able to make me feel uncomfortable and "guilty." He began asking me questions about myself ( i.e. where I lived, what I did, etc.) and he found my life to be very interesting. I told him about my collaborative efforts with TheTunerSource.com and my penchant for fine films and beautiful women (okay, maybe I didn't tell him about the films and women). Simply by profiling him, he looked like a man that was trying to get by but still somewhat frustrated with life. Finally, he asked me, "Hey, do you know of any ways to make money on the internet? It seems that people nowadays are able to make a living by not even leaving their home." (Turns out, he just wanted to chat.)
And it hit me that he was right; our society has evolved so quickly that people are finding themselves struggling to stay with the times and jones. There are so many things that weren't even a seed of a thought years ago and have become a social necessity: the internet, cellular phones, Myspace, Craigslist, TheFacebook, YouTube.com, etc. I could probably go on until I run out of energy about these things and how we "need" our cell phones and "must" check our Myspace and Facebook accounts but it's become so normal that the explanations are within you, the reader's, own mind without need for reasoning.
As the first article written for a series of blog entries at TheTunerSource.com, my intention was to show you how there are things that were once a seed of thought and have then spawned into social phenomenons. As with all the things/websites I've outlined above, there was a need and want for these things and our lives, whether we want to admit it or not, have become more fun, lively, and a lot easier with the advent of them. Communication has become easier and different processes of exchange have found many "shortcuts." At TheTunerSource.com, we really wanted to get this site out to everybody because we saw the need and want for a website such as the one we are providing. We've really been laboring over this site and tying and re-tying loose ends in hopes that it too will ease a process within your lives; the process of when you're buying and selling used/new cars and parts. Within the spectacle that is our social advancement, our hope is that TheTunerSource.com will fit somewhere within that realm and that it will be your premier online solution for automotive needs.
