"$10 Million Cash For YOUR Car..."

The AXP (Automotive X Prize), with its impressive X PRIZE of $10 million cash, is being put on by the X PRIZE Foundation founded by Peter Diamandis. The X PRIZE foundation is a non-profit organization that raises multimillion-dollar prizes for scientific and technological challenges.

In 2009 carmakers from around the world will go head-to-head in a race to prove they can deliver a 100-mpg car. Big names and hopeful neophytes alike will have to show that their vehicle/technology is not only economical and green, but also economically realistic and practical.
