Yeah, that's right. Twenty-one models manufactured by General Motors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration better known as the NHTSA has intensified their investigation on twenty-one models of truck and sport utility vehicles manufactured by the great folks at General Motors between 2006 and 2008 which equates to approximately 2.7 million vehicles. The investigation was prompted because of the possibility of an engine compartment fire. But here's the kicker; the fire can erupt inside the engine compartment, even if the ignition is turned off...nice one GM.
Apparently there have been about forty-one engine compartment fires not caused by a traffic accident or crash involving GM vehicles, prior to the prompted investigation. Investigators are examining the electrical system, engine and engine cooling system; battery cables; under-hood wiring, fuses and circuit breakers to find the possible culprit of the said fires. The probing and examining of the the twenty-one GM models (which are listed below) may, and most likely result in a massive recall of millions of vehicles. So if you own one or several of the vehicles manufactured by General Motors on the list, please contact your local GM dealership or just not leave you vehicle on or off. Kudos GM!!
