It's true, it's true. Talks of resurrecting and re-releasing the Delorean is looming and this car, with its cult following, may be making a return. Here's how this exciting return came about.
So, Danny Botkins fell in love with the Delorean back in the early 80s when he first saw one while joining his dad for a trip to the car dealership. When he grew up and was in a position to finally get his dream car, he did just that and is now currently driving a fully restored Delorean. On top of that, he currently manages a repair and refurbish shop in Garden Grove, CA that's affiliated with Delorean Motoring Co. and this where they made plans to put the car into production but with a limited amount, about a quarter century since the last line of Deloreans came off the assembly line.
When John Delorean first made the car, it was an instant cult classic with a highly regarded prestige for the car itself and its creator. But with a price tag of $25,000, the car couldn't sell enough cars to keep the company in business. So when Back To The Future came out, people fell in love again with the futuristic looking car.
Though this is exciting news, there aren't going to be many Deloreans manufactured--only about 20 a year. I wonder if the car would fit in my garage with the gull wing doors lifted ;)
