This is the new 2008 Spec Rally car that will be delivered to Subaru Race Teams all over the world, including famous Subaru driver Tommy Makinen.
This 304HP flat four car is still awaiting approval by FIA for 2008, but will surely pass. This car will be sold by specific "Subaru Base Teams" all over the world. One team is Tommy Makinen Racing, which operates as a race school, modification center, and support for Tommy Makinen himself.
The new 2008 Subaru is improved by having a wider wheel base and a double wishbone rear suspension as revisions to previous models. For improved engine performance, stronger connecting rods, electronically actuated throttle, and an active valve control system.
Subaru also revised the software for the engine control and differential control, allowing a driver to change settings on the fly.
In terms of chassis tuning, Subaru has raised the center of gravity, changed the weight distribution, and "optimized" the height of the roll center.
