2008 VW R32 Golf

This little hot rod of a car is being tested with the Passat's 3.6 V-6 Liter Motor. This motor will produce somewhere between 280-300 HP rather than the former 247 HP from the 3.2 Liter. I guess it seems the German's want more power? They expect for the car to make the 0-60 in just under 6.0 seconds, and at least a top speed 155 MPH.

Due to the larger engine, revisions are being made to the braking, cooling, and suspension of the car. They have also once again offered it as a 4-Motion AWD, and will have a manumatic DSG or true 6-Speed Manual.

With the last version R32 it took quite a while for it to be released, but this car will take no longer than a year after the March 2008 Golf GTi release to hit the U.S. Expect a price increase of $2500, which will bump the price tag up to $44000-$45000. Yikes!

So many people are wondering, is it better to get the new Mark V R32 or wait for the burly R36?
